When twin sisters Beatrice and Chloe Crowell help foil the designs of a traitor, they inadvertently end up in compromising situations with the men they love and are faced with twin dilemmas. Society demands that they accept their gentlemen's proposals of marriage, but neither girl wishes to become a wife because of feelings of honor rather than love.
The Marquess of Thayne loves Beatrice Crowell and the Earl of Randson loves Chloe, but they have no idea how to convince their young ladies that their proposals weren't based solely on honor. Fortunately—or not—they have plenty of people willing to offer advice, and they end up expressing their true feelings through a botched production of Romeo and Juliet. Fortunately, as the men discover for themselves, all's well that ends well.
Reviews
This intricately woven traditional Regency is a tapestry of humor, intrigue, danger and betrayal that leads twin sisters Beatrice and Chloe into the heart of a London season and the arms of the gentlemen they refuse to marry. This witty progression of misunderstandings, misjudgments and familial entanglements is a winner.

I must say that there are several points throughout Compromising Situations that had me giggling out loud and sighing with satisfaction for such a job well done by Ms. Carey. Of note, I particularly enjoyed Henrietta's lust for anything Shakespeare — her "dearest Will." Readers will get a kick out of Henrietta. Compromising Situations is definitely money well-spent during your next trip to Cerridwen Press. Make sure it's added to your shopping list.

I loved this book; it was a perfect rainy-day read. I do not, however, recommend you wait until it rains to read it! I highly recommend this historical work which promises to present its author, Ms. Carolynn Carey, with many much-deserved accolades!

Welcome the return of the Traditional Regency. Compromising Situations is peopled with interesting and likable characters. Ms. Carey has written an amusing story which keeps the reader attentive from beginning to end. I highly recommend this story to fans who have been bemoaning the demise of the regency lines from other publishers.

This is a charming story of love and honor with a wit that had me giggling. The characters are sensational and I could relate to the young women's feelings. Lady Henrietta had me laughing at her antics. The girls really know how to keep the men in line. Truth is always best and this story shows that.
